K9 Nose Work
K9 Nose Work is a fun, engaging activity that taps into your dog’s natural ability to search and problem‑solve using their sense of smell. Inspired by working detection dogs, this class provides mental enrichment, builds confidence, and strengthens focus in dogs of all ages and experience levels.
K9 Nose Work is suitable for virtually any dog and does not require prior obedience training, making it an excellent option for teams looking for a positive and rewarding way to work together.
In K9 Nose Work, dogs learn to search for a hidden reward by using scent rather than visual cues. Searches begin in simple environments and gradually expand to more complex settings, including containers, interior spaces, and outdoor areas. Each dog works individually at their own pace, allowing them to build confidence and independence while handlers learn to read subtle changes in behavior and body language.
This activity is especially beneficial for dogs who need a constructive outlet for energy, confidence building, or mental stimulation. Shy or cautious dogs often gain confidence through successful searches, while high‑energy dogs learn to channel their drive into focused work. K9 Nose Work also strengthens the partnership between dog and handler by encouraging observation, trust, and teamwork in a low‑pressure environment.
Prepare for a lifetime of fun with your dog through K9 Nose Work.
