Advanced Obedience
Advanced obedience Ottawa IL is designed for teams who are ready to take their training to the highest level of reliability and control. This class focuses on refining obedience skills so dogs can respond consistently in real‑world environments, even around significant distractions. Advanced Obedience is ideal for dogs who have a strong foundation and are ready to demonstrate precision, impulse control, and focus in challenging situations.
Throughout the course, dogs work on advanced applications of core obedience behaviors, including longer duration stays, increased distance, and higher levels of distraction. Training emphasizes calm control, clear communication, and the ability to maintain engagement with the handler in both structured and dynamic environments. Handlers continue to develop timing, consistency, and confidence while learning how to maintain high standards without unnecessary pressure.
Advanced Obedience is about polishing behavior rather than teaching basics. By strengthening reliability and accountability, this class prepares dogs for real‑world expectations, advanced activities, and specialty training paths. The result is a dog who responds with clarity and confidence and an owner who can trust their dog’s behavior in everyday life.
Advanced Obedience drop-in is fun, affordable and convenient way to maintain and polish what you’ve learned so far as well as move on to advanced off-leash obedience. In our drop-in advanced class you can show up whenever you want…every week, once a month…whatever you want. Obviously you will advance faster by coming regularly but people love the flexibility!
Whether you are looking to keep your dog “tuned up” by coming out once a month or looking to turn your dog into a “Rock Star” by coming out every week, the Advanced practice sessions are here to accommodate your schedule.
Advanced Obedience is designed for dogs who have completed Intermediate Obedience training.
Many of the skills we teach align with the AKC Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) program, which promotes polite, real‑world behavior for dogs and responsible ownership.
