Board and Train
Structured, immersive training designed to build reliable behavior through consistency, repetition, and professional handling.
Our Board & Train programs are designed for dogs who benefit from focused, daily training in a controlled environment. During these programs, your dog lives and trains directly within a structured system, allowing for clear communication, consistent expectations, and repeated practice throughout the day.
This approach allows us to work efficiently, build solid behavior foundations, and make progress that is difficult to achieve through weekly sessions alone.
What Board & Train Is Designed For
Board & Train may be appropriate for dogs who benefit from:
- Greater structure and accountability
- Consistent professional handling
- Focused repetition and follow‑through
- Support with obedience, manners, or behavior challenges
Some dogs are best served through group classes or private lessons, while others benefit more from immersive training. Our role is to help guide dogs into the option that best supports long‑term success.
Board & Train Program Options
4 Week Board & Train
On-Leash Obedience & Foundational Reliability
The 4-week Board & Train is designed to build clear communication, structure, and reliable on-leash obedience in real-world environments. Through consistent daily training, repetition, and professional handling, your dog learns how to follow direction confidently both at home and in public.
For dogs that already have a strong obedience foundation, this program can also be progressed into off-leash reliability depending on the dog’s responsiveness and ability to handle distraction.
This program is also a strong fit for dogs experiencing mild to moderate leash reactivity, helping them develop better impulse control, focus, and neutrality.
Best For:
- Loose leash walking and structured walks
- Sit, down, place, and stay with reliability
- Recall (on-leash and long line)
- Household manners and impulse control
- Mild to moderate leash reactivity
- Building engagement and focus around distractions
Program Details:
- Length: 28 days
- Investment: $3,360.00
- Daily Rate Beyond 4 Weeks: $120.00 / day
Important Notes:
- This program does not include an e-collar
- An e-collar ($220–$240) may be recommended if off-leash goals or higher levels of reliability are desired
- Off-leash reliability may be achieved for select dogs with strong foundations, but is not guaranteed within this timeframe
6 Week Board & Train
Advanced Off-Leash Freedom & Behavior Work
The 6-week Board & Train is designed for owners who want advanced reliability, off-leash freedom, and higher-level behavior work. This extended time allows us to fully develop, reinforce, and proof obedience through distance, duration, and distraction in real-world environments.
This program is also appropriate for dogs with more severe leash reactivity, where additional time, structure, and consistency are required to create lasting change.
Best For:
- Advanced off-leash obedience
- Reliable recall in high-distraction environments
- Off-leash heel, sit, down, place, and extended stays
- Severe leash reactivity
- Dogs needing deeper behavior work and consistency
- Owners wanting maximum freedom and long-term reliability
Program Details:
- Length: 42 days
- Investment: $5,170.00
- Daily Rate Beyond 6 Weeks: $120.00 / day
Program Includes:
- E-collar included ($220–$240 value)
- Structured progression from on-leash to off-leash control
- Real-world exposure and proofing in multiple environments
E-Collar Inclusion
An e-collar is included in the 6-week Board & Train program and is selected based on your dog’s size, temperament, and training needs to ensure proper function and long-term success.
If an e-collar is purchased prior to the program or from a third party, it must be approved by our trainers to ensure compatibility and reliability.
Program pricing remains the same regardless of whether an outside e-collar is used, as equipment selection and setup are part of the overall training system and results.
Additional Training Time
(If Needed or Requested)
While most dogs graduate within their selected program, some may benefit from additional time to fully meet their goals.
Additional days may be recommended if:
- Behavior challenges require more time and repetition
- Owners want further off-leash proofing
- A higher level of consistency is needed before going home
Our priority is always to ensure your dog leaves with clear understanding, reliable behavior, and long-term success, not just a fixed timeline.
Go-Home Lesson & Continued Support
Training doesn’t end when your dog goes home—it transitions into your role as the handler.
Every Board & Train program includes a structured go-home lesson designed to ensure you understand how to maintain and continue your dog’s training.
- Includes a 2+ hour in-depth go-home lesson
- Covers all commands, structure, handling, and real-world application
- Designed to ensure you leave confident and capable of maintaining your dog’s training
In addition:
- Includes a 1-hour follow-up lesson after your dog goes home
- Allows us to fine-tune handling, answer questions, and reinforce consistency
Our Commitment to Your Success
We are always available to support our clients after their program is complete.
Owners who stay consistent, follow through, and remain engaged will continue to receive guidance and support as needed. Our goal is not just short-term results—but long-term success for both you and your dog.
Choosing the Right Program
The right program depends on your goals—not just time.
- Choose 4 weeks for strong on-leash obedience, foundational reliability, and mild to moderate behavior concerns
- Choose 6 weeks for advanced off-leash reliability, higher-level expectations, or more significant behavior challenges
If your dog requires more in-depth behavior work or a higher level of reliability, the longer program will be recommended to ensure lasting success—not rushed results.
Customization & Expectations
Every Board & Train program is customized to the individual dog. We take time to understand your dog’s history, behavior, and your goals so training can be structured appropriately from the start.
Board & Train establishes training foundations — not automatic perfection. Owner follow‑through, consistency, and continued practice are essential for long‑term success. We are always transparent about what results are realistic and what level of training is appropriate for each dog.
Training Methods & Tools
Training methods and tools are selected on an individual basis and may vary depending on your dog’s needs, behavior, and goals.
Tools such as leashes, long lines, and training collars are introduced thoughtfully and professionally, with clear explanation and owner education provided to support proper use and long-term success.
E-collar training may be used in the 4-week program on a case-by-case basis if it supports your dog’s goals. However, it is not included in that program.
The e-collar is included in the 6-week program, where appropriate for achieving off-leash reliability, and is introduced through a structured, low-level conditioning process focused on clarity—not force.

Board & Train Refresher
For Returning Clients Only
Our Board & Train Refresher program is designed exclusively for previous Precision K9 Training clients whose dogs have already completed a full training program and need structured professional support to get back on track.
Life happens. Routines change, consistency slips, and training can take a back seat. This refresher option allows our trainers to re‑establish structure, reinforce expectations, and sharpen skills that were previously in place.
Program Requirements Dogs must have previously completed one of the following through Precision K9 Training:
- A Board & Train program
- A full Private Lesson package
- An approved foundational training program
This ensures the refresher program is used to reinforce existing skills rather than introduce new foundations.
Program Details
- Short-term immersive Board & Train stay
- Reinforcement of existing obedience and manners
- Structure, accountability, and consistency re-established
- Owner transfer session at pickup
This program focuses on reinforcing prior training — not addressing complex behavior cases or building new foundations from scratch.
Pricing
- $110 per day
- 3-day minimum stay
- Multi-dog households may qualify for discounted rates
Availability and suitability are reviewed during scheduling.
Important Note The Board & Train Refresher is intended to support dogs who already have an established training foundation through Precision K9 Training.
For returning clients or with an established training foundation looking to improve reliability, introduce new training tools such as an e-collar, or work toward higher-level goals, a 2-week Board & Train program may be recommended.
