Intermediate Obedience in Ottawa, IL

Intermediate Obedience

Our Intermediate Obedience class is a structured 6‑week group training program designed to improve reliability, strengthen communication, and help your dog perform known behaviors consistently in real-world environments.

This program follows a set start date and weekly progression, allowing you and your dog to build on existing skills with increasing levels of difficulty. Each week adds new challenges through distance, duration, and distraction, helping your dog develop confidence and control in more demanding situations.

Training focuses on applying skills, not just knowing them—teaching your dog how to respond reliably even when it matters most.

What to Expect

Throughout the program, you and your dog will work on:

  • Increasing reliability of known commands
  • Working with added duration, distance, and distractions
  • Improving impulse control in real-world scenarios
  • Polite behavior around people and other dogs
  • Strengthening leash skills and handler communication
  • Developing calm, consistent responses in more challenging environments

Each class builds on the previous week, helping your dog transition from understanding commands to consistently following through.

How Intermediate Obedience Works

  • Classes run in 6‑week sessions with a set start date
  • You attend the same scheduled class each week
  • Skills are progressively challenged each week
  • Class sizes are limited for quality instruction
  • Owners are actively involved in every session

This structured format ensures your dog develops reliability through repetition, clarity, and real-world application.
