Basic Obedience
Our Basic Obedience class is a structured 6‑week group training program designed to build reliable, real‑world manners through clear communication, consistency, and accountability.
This program follows a set start date and weekly progression, allowing you and your dog to build skills step-by-step in a focused, organized environment. Each week builds on the last, helping your dog develop stronger responses, better focus, and improved behavior both at home and in public.
Training is hands-on and practical. You’ll learn how to clearly communicate with your dog, reinforce good decisions, and follow through in a way that creates lasting results.
What to Expect
Throughout the program, you and your dog will work on:
- Reliable leash handling and loose leash walking
- Sit, down, and duration work
- Recall (coming when called)
- Place and impulse control
- Focus and engagement around distractions
- Clear communication and follow-through
Each session builds on previously learned skills, helping your dog become more consistent and responsive over time.

Dogs who complete Basic Obedience often continue building reliability in our Intermediate Obedience class.

Age Requirements
Dogs who have completed Puppy Kindergarten and are ready to continue their training, or dogs who are beyond the puppy stage, usually 6 months or greater, and are starting formal training for the first time.
