Group Training Classes are designed to be a fun and safe environment for you and your dog to learn how to work together as a team around a variety of distractions. We have a comprehensive program spanning from Puppy classes to more advanced Obedience classes. There is something for everyone! With smaller class sizes we are able to make sure that every team gets personalized attention. In group training, you get the same great information as private lessons but at the discounted group rate! Dogs must be up to date on age appropriate vaccinations.

Note: In order for your dog to participate in group training classes at Precision K9 Training, your dog must be:

 1. Friendly towards people (both adults and kids) both on and off leash

2. Friendly towards other dogs (of all sizes) both on and off leash

3. Comfortable in new environments

If your dog is nervous, reactive, fearful or aggressive, we recommend private one-on-one training or our board-and-train programs for optimal training results.

In our curriculum design, we use and teach an approach called self-contained lesson planning.  Our lessons build on each other within a class session, rather than building from week to week. Lessons are designed to be approached from multiple skill levels so everyone in class can participate equally and productively, regardless of your skill level. Lessons are built around real-life problem solving that teaches the skills you’ll need outside the classroom. All classes are 45 minutes to 1 hour in length. Days and times are noted below for each class.

Puppy Kindergarten

Class Size: Varies

Length: 45 minutes to 1 hour for a total of 6 lessons

Sunday 5:00 p.m.

This is an Open Enrollment Class.  The flexible rolling schedule allows you and your dog to join the six week puppy training class on any week.  Each self-contained class will teach you and your pet how to work together as a team.  Skills that will be taught are loose leash walking, recall (come when called), responding to their name, and commands such as “Sit”, “Down”, “Stand”, and “Place”.

Puppy Kindergarten is designed for puppies 12 to 20 weeks of age with age appropriate vaccinations as a way to get them started off on the best foot possible. We incorporate safe socialization, basic skills, and fun exposure to a variety of new experiences to create a confident and happy puppy. A part of class each week is also spent going over common puppy issues and addressing any questions you may have.

Note: We require that all puppies attending class receive at least their first set of vaccinations seven days prior to class. Proof of vaccinations is required.

What to bring: a hungry puppy; lots of high value treats (e.g., hot dog or cheese pieces); treat pouch or container with lid for treats; puppy harness and lightweight leash or slip lead. Well-behaved kids and family members are welcome to attend.

  • Sit politely next to you when someone greets you
  • Sit politely next to you when someone with a dog greets you

  • Lay down on command and stay for 2 minutes from 6 feet away
  • Come when called to front-sit from 20 feet away
  • Walk on a loose leash (L turn, R turn, about face, auto sit at stop)
  • Go to the place bed and stay (for 3 minutes with distractions)
  • Leave-It (food refusal)
